The name Maravie comes from a union of concepts: te mara (Māori for "to cultivate") and vie (French for "life").
For us, it’s a way to honour the intersection of the garden and the life lived within it: what you cultivate is what you harvest.

Maravie is the celebration of our home in Marlborough - and a commitment to the future, to pass this exceptional place to our children and future generations in a better state than they found it. Our vineyard is organic, BioGro certified in 2026 - and utilises practices that are focused on building soil fertility, increasing biodiversity and improve vine resilience.
There is a fundamental truth in viticulture: a vineyard in balance produces a wine in balance. When the soil biology is thriving and the vines exist in a state of ease rather than stress, that harmony is transcribed into the glass. We believe that this equilibrium is contagious.
